How Google Celebrating Indonesia Independence Day

When I opened my google window, I didn't recognize what's even with that picture? but just in a second later I realize that it's for celebrating Indonesia Independence Day. But what makes me wonder is why they put that picture with childern playing? for Indonesian, they won't question what is that, but for others, I assume that they may don't know.hehehe.. so, this is my brief explanation of that picture!


 That Google logo is showing us how indonesian celebrate the Independence Day, almost Indonesian Kids take part in this even. Every village, every city in indonesia is celebrating it by helding some "Funny Race". Why I said Funny, because it's not really race, but it's for gathering and united all people. Three of those funny race you can see it in that logo.

Okay, I'll explain for the first race.

1. Coin Bite
Coin Bite is a game in purpose to get coin as much as you can. As you can see in that logo, there are two kids facing a watermelon with embed coins. They have to get the coin as much as they could bite. Usually, the watermelon is covered with Petis, it's black liquid made from shrimp, it taste good, not too fishy-smell. It will make the face of them look funny after winning the bitting battle! :)

2. Lomba Makan Kerupuk/ Kerupuk Eating Race
Kerupuk is Indonesian Chips, usually made of flour flavored with fish or shrimp. The kids should eat the hung Kerupuk untill it last. You can see there is a boy with blue shirt trying to reach the Hung Kerupuk in the Google Logo. The fastest one who can eat all Kerupuk is the Winner. Almost all Indonesian kids have/had this moment in their life time, so do I! :)

3. Balap Karung / Sack Race
Sack Race is a race where the participant must be in sack, and jumping jumping to the finish line. The first one reach the finish, he/she is the winner, oh ya, the participant could be girls, and women too. You see in the Google Logo, there are two kids wearing sack and try to run faster, no, jump faster! :)

 Okay, That's how google celebrating the Indonesian Independence Day. But there are more celebration Indonesian do for today. Here are some:

1. Marble Race
The participant of the game should bite a spoon with a marble on it. They should race either walking or running as long as they do not drop the marble. The first who reach the finish line is the winner.



2. Water Hit 
Plastic of water are hanged a few steps in front of the start line. Using scarf, the contestants’ eyes are sealed off. They should walk to the water and hit it using a stick from stem of banana leaves. The winner is the one who fastest smashes the water.



3.Panjat Pinang / Pole Climbing
This is the most exciting celebration! Panjat Pinang is a very unique way of celebrating Indonesia’s Independence Day. Every year, in towns and villages around the country, tall nut-trees are chopped down and their trunks placed vertically, in the center of each settlement. A wheel full of prizes is placed on top, before the trunk is covered with oil or other lubricants, and young men are invited to try and reach the prizes.most Indonesia believe it is an educational challenge that teaches people to work together and work hard in reaching their goals.spooky



4. The Ceremony of Proclamation! 
The ceremony of Indonesia Independence Day is the final of all celebration. Every government institutional and school held ceremony. From all the ceremony, I always want to see the one in Istana Merdeka, Precident Palace. There are always Paskibraka (High School who bring, accompany and rise the National Flag). Since I was kid I always wanna be one of those who stand in Istana Merdeka. But no doubt, the selection is so strict and I only passed for Paskibra in my high school and I'm still proud of that!


Well, that was brief explanation. HAPPY FREEDOM! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE INDONESIA! :)

When I’m no more a teenager

Akhirnya hari ini datang juga. Jujur aku enggak pernah menanti hari ini tiba. Sempat hanya memikirkan saja, tapi hal ini hanya membuatku merasa menyesal. Kenapa? Hheeyy aku bukan lagi remaja unyu-unyu sekarang. Sekarang aku udah 20 tahun, rasanya malu kalau di usia yang begitu senja ini bersikap kekanak-kanakan. Dua puluh tahun ini aku habiskan untuk apa? Rasanya masiha banyaaaakk sekali cita-citaku yang belum bisa aku kabulkan untukku sendiri.

20 tahun….

Hari ini adalah hari pertamaku di tahun ke 20 dalam hidupku. Hari ini, aku bukan lagi seorang remaja, berapa kali aku harus mengingatkan diri sendiri tentang hal ini!. Ketika bangun di pagi ini, aku benar-benar bersyukur masih diberi kesempatan satu tahun untuk hidup oleh Allah. Kita kan tidak tahu umur kita yang sebenarnya berapa? Siapa tahu, seharusnya aku sudah meninggal setahun yang lalu, tapi karena Allah menyangiku atau mamaku atau siapa dan apapun sebagaimana sehingga Allah memberikanku tambahan umur lagi hingga saat ini, aku masih bisa berculcol ria disini.

Hari ini, engga ada yang special. Maklum, kan sudah usia senja, jadi nggak ada lagi acara gebyur-gebyuran pake telur dan tepung ala anak sma. Hanya saja, aku merasa sedikit lebih tua, huhuhuhuu… jadi inget omongannya mas Aji yang ngatain aku kelihatan lebih tua hari ini.! Wew! :S

Apalagi ketika aku buka special gift from my besties Chusna and Adhe, I saw purple cute sandal dan coklat berbungkus warna purple pula. But why is it must be purple gitu loh? Ungu kan warna janda, janda itu kan kesannya udah tua banget. Jadi berasa tua deh.. tapi ngga apa-apa lahhh.. biar jadi pengingat kalo aku harus bersikap dewasa, bukan?

Dan thank you so much for all my friends in International Business of Sebelas Maret University for the prayers and ucapan selamatnya, thanks for my girls in CF hostel, and of course my ‘baka’ partners in Minami Resto, my friends in facebook, in semarang and my family who call me in this very morning when I just awake! J

Indonesia Raya

Assalamualaikum!

".. Indonesia Raya, Merdeka.. Merdeka. Tanahku, Negriku yang kucinta. Indonesia Raya, Merdeka.. Merdeka, Hiduplah Indonesia Raya.." - W.R Supratman, Indonesia Raya.

I always proud to see the Red-White flag of Indonesian flag rose up to sky by that anthem. Today is my beloved country's independence day, Indonesia. It's been 66 years since the Soekarno and Hatta declared our Independence from Nippon or Japanese. I remember what Hatta said,"Independence is not our final purpose, but it's a way to reach prosperity of nation". Man.. that's what we as youth to fight for!

Independence day always have a special place in my heart. I always stand by in front of TV at 9.30 am to watch Paskibra, The student troops who rise up the flag. I have ever told about Paskibra on previous post. I'll remind it again. Paskibra, Pasukan(Troops) Pengibar(Riser/hoister) Bendera(Flag). Paskibra are those who rise up the national flag on national ceremony like in today, national independence day! the member of Paskibra is only student of highschool from class 10 or 11.



To be Paskibra was my dream since I was kid, and to be Paskibraka or Paskibra who are perform in front of president like in that video is so hard to get selected. I have joined Paskibra when I was on high school but my height is not tall enough to be Paskibraka. So I just performed in front of school's head master.. :P
But I always proud to be Paskibra even just in my high school.

Paskibra consist of 3 groups, Troops 8, Troops 17 and Troops 45. Just like Indonesian independence date August 17th 1945! :D

Troops 17 have duty to guide the main troops or the troops 8. Troops 8 as the main troops have duty to bring the flag and rise it up.And the troops 45 have duty to accompany them. Although those troops have been coached up for more than a month before but the decision who's gonna get what duty is just in the morning of the ceremony. So, all of them should be able to do every duty as a troop!

I remember when I was still member of Paskibra in my high school, I got so many experiences! I got physically treatment, mental treatment, and be discipline in everything. Not only military treatment, but also organization management, especially when we were making a competition. I also have been thought about friendship,leadership ,work as group to reach a purpose together. It really gave me a lot of positive change to be what I am right now. I never mean to boast up my self, but for ever being a Paskibra it makes me different than the other when I face a new world in university. For example, it's not only me who said this, but most of my paskibra friends and those who ever be paskibra in high school, we look more critical than the other. And to present something in front of people is not a clumsy thing for us. While some people who is never involved in paskibra or any school activist said it's kindda hard thing. Well, actually everybody can do that as long as we want to try and make it usual.

Well, that's one of my childhood dreams. I still have so many dreams to reach.. see you on my next post! :D

Uluwatu Temple, Exoticsm of the Serenity

Assalamualaikum.. well i finnaly decided which story i wanna share. Last month, me and whole classmate held a trip to Bali Island. Bali is the most famoust island in Indonesia, some foreigner even think that Indonesia is inside Bali, lolxx.

Okay, Bali is quite far from our place, it's almost 24 hours away by bus and ship. I dont know bout the flight. But even it takes tooooo looong time away but we are paid by the beautifull and amazing places we visited. And now I would like to share one of places we have visited. Here it is.. Pura Uluwatu or in english known Uluwatu Temple. 

Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one of six temples with the status Sad Kahyangan Jagat trusted by Hindus as a buffer from 9 of wind direction. Uluwatu is derived from word ulu means head or tip, while watu mean stone. Therefore, meaning of  Pura Uluwatu Temple is built on the edge of rock. This temple stands majestically on the southwestern tip of Bali on the bridge of stone cliff jutting into the sea and as high as 97 meters from sea level. Thus, not only sacred and religious atmosphere that can be enjoyed by visitors who want to worship, but the stunning natural scenery that can be enjoyed by visitors who just want to travel.

This temple was originally used to be a place of worship a holy priest named Mpu Kuturan 11th century. He spraded the teachings of Indigenous Village with all the rules. This temple is also used to worship the holy priest that followed, namely Dang Hyang Nirartha, who came to Bali in late 1550 and end the journey with the so-called sacred Moksah / Ngeluhur in this place.
 
Pura Uluwatu has several son temples, which are closely associated with temples main. It is Pura Bajurit, Pura Pererepan, Pura Kulat, Pura Dalem Selonding dan Pura Dalem Pangleburan. Each temple has close links with  Pura Uluwatu, especially in the days of his piodalan. Piodalan at Pura Uluwatu, Pura Bajurit, Pura Pura toadstool Pererepan and fell on Tuesday Kliwon Wuku Medangsia every 210 days. Manifestation of God who was worshiped in the Pura Uluwatu is the god Rudra.
 
Today, Pura Uluwatu Luhur was located between three growing tourist areas namely Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and Tuban. This further increase of visitors coming to Luhur Pura Uluwatu. Tourism business was also growing along with increasing the number of visitors. Commodities any tourism business should be utilized as much as possible without losing the sanctity of Pura Uluwatu. So that visitors who come to feel comfortable and satisfied visiting.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu located in the Village area Pecatu, District of South Kuta, Badung regency, Bali province, Indonesia. Approximately 31 km south of Denpasar, the capital of Bali Province. Travelers can use taxi, rental car or a motorcycle and travel agents fatherly towards Uluwatu. If you use the services of travel agents, usually into a single package with other tourist attractions in the area south of Bali such as Nusa Dua Beach, Tanjung Benoa Water Sport, and Turtle Island Marine Park, Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, Dreamland Beach and Jimbaran Beach.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu is one temple in Bali with beautiful scenery. The main attraction for tourists is a view of the temple which is spectacular. Located in the northwest, seems like the temple is perched on the tip of a very high rock cliffs and steep, with views of the depth of ocean and hitting waves that produce foam-white froth that is very beautiful. 
In the evening, you can watch Kecak dance which is held around 18:00 until 19:00 pm. Dance that tells the a fragment story of the Ramayana epic, namely abduction of Shinta Dewi by Ravana which is more fascinating with sunset background in the Indian Ocean. Kecak Dance is one of Bali's most popular dances. Kecak dance can be found in several places in Bali, but in Uluwatu is the most interesting to watch.

When you go down a path that goes into Pura Uluwatu, with concrete fence on the cliff side, tourists can enjoy the view to see the rocky hills and a clear expanse of the Indian Ocean. However, tourists should be careful with the naughty Temple monkey guards. Suddenly they will take the property of visitors such as, glasses, hair clips, hats, earrings, and so forth. If the goods already taken, tourists can exchange it by giving the monkey a snack like cucumber slices, nuts, and other small food that can be bought in stalls around the temple. Apes are believed to be a guard the sanctity of Pura Uluwatu.

Before entering the temple, tourists are required to wear a yellow or green or orange scarf for those who wear a skirt or pants below the knee and a purple or blue sarong for those who wears a skirt or pants above the knee(you may see it on the picture below). These are symbolizes of respect for the sanctity of the temple, as well as a binder implies bad intentions against the soul. On the front page there are rental Pura sarongs and scarves to be worn by tourists who want to enter the temple. In addition, tourists can hire a tour guide who will tell the history of existence Luhur Pura Uluwatu.
After entering jabaan pura (temple front page), tourists will be greeted by a temple gate Bentar sayab bird-shaped curve. Entrance gate into the middle jabaan This is one of the archaeological heritage of the 16th century. To reach the innards temple, tourists will pass through the temple in front of main temple that a statue of the temple guards (dwarapala) with Archa of Ganesha. However, to respect the sanctity of the temple, tourists are not allowed to enter the main hall of worship, because only Hindus who would pray is allowed to enter. Inside the main temple there prasada roared the place for moksa of Dang Hyang Nirartha.

If you come using private cars, Pura Uluwatu also provides parking area. In addition, Pura Uluwatu is also fully equipped with public toilets for visitors. If you need a restaurant and lodging, tourists can find hotels and restaurants with various types and menus are available around the Uluwatu Temple.
